The product
What is Mini Me OS, in one sentence?+
A personal operating system that connects tasks, projects, goals, routines and your calendar into one screen — and quietly answers what to do next.
How is it different from a todo app, Notion, or Sunsama?+
Todo apps store tasks. Notion is a database. Sunsama is calendar-prep. Mini Me OS sits on top: it scores every open task across priority, deadline, energy and goal-fit, watches for stuck projects and lonely goals, reads your calendar for real free time, and surfaces one primary recommendation on Today.
What modules does Mini Me OS have?+
Today, Capture, Tasks, Projects, Goals, Routines, Focus (Max), Email (Max, opt-in), Review, Assistant, Automations (Max) and Settings. The dashboard sidebar lists exactly those, in that order.
Does it work on mobile?+
Mini Me OS is a Progressive Web App. Open it in Safari or Chrome on your phone, then use Add to Home Screen — the app launches full-screen with no browser bar, respects the iOS safe area, and behaves like a native install. No App Store listing yet; everything ships through the web so we can update in one place.
Does Mini Me work offline?+
Yes, after the first visit. A service worker caches the app shell so reopening the page works without a connection — you'll see your latest plan and can type into Capture. Writes that need the server (saving a new task, syncing the calendar) wait until you're online again and a slim banner makes the offline state obvious.
Which languages does Mini Me speak?+
English, Dutch, German and French. Switch in Settings → Language. Sidebar navigation, page titles, the command palette, the filter chips and the Today / Tasks / Capture pages all follow. Some deeper page copy and AI output are still English while we work through the long tail — the language picker is honest about that.
Sharing & collaboration
Can I share a workspace with my team?+
Yes, on Pro and Max. Open Settings → Workspace and tap Invite teammate — Mini Me generates a single-use link you can paste into Slack, iMessage, email, anywhere. Members see the same tasks, projects, goals and routines and can read + create + edit them. Only the owner can delete or remove members.
Can I be invited to someone else's workspace if I'm on Free?+
Yes. The invite gate is on creating shared workspaces (the owner needs Pro+). Joining one is free for the member — you can be in someone's shared workspace AND still have your own solo Mini Me on Free.
How does billing work for shared workspaces?+
Per seat. Every active member of a shared workspace is one seat on the owner's plan — Pro is €9 / seat / month, Max is €19 / seat / month. The owner pays. Billing is stubbed today; Stripe goes live later and the in-app copy is honest about that until it does.
Notifications & PWA
How do push notifications work?+
Allow notifications when Mini Me asks (it asks once, at a meaningful moment — never on first page load). Then a single quiet push lands in the morning at 8 a.m. local time with the day's primary recommendation. Toggle the morning recap or disable push entirely in Settings → Notifications.
Will I get notification spam?+
No. The only scheduled push today is the optional morning recap. Future automations will need explicit opt-in per rule, and the Settings toggle wipes the subscription on every device with one click.
What is the install button I sometimes see?+
A small card that offers to add Mini Me to your home screen so it opens as a real app. It only appears from your second visit onward, never twice in a row after you dismiss it, and stays hidden after install. iOS Safari needs you to use Share → Add to Home Screen manually because Apple doesn't let websites trigger that prompt directly.
Can I build my own automations?+
Yes, on Max. Open the Automations module to build rules like "When a project goes 7 days without an update, surface it on Today's attention list" or "Every morning at 8 a.m., send me a push with what to start with today." A daily scheduler evaluates rules in your local timezone. Free + Pro users still get the seeded morning recap via Settings → Notifications even though they can't author new rules.
AI features
What does the AI actually do?+
Three things, only when you press a button: Smart add splits one sentence into structured items, Break into steps proposes 3 to 6 subtasks for a big task, and Explain today's plan writes a short paragraph about your day. Each output is shown as a preview and only saved after you confirm.
Which AI provider does Mini Me OS use?+
Google's Gemini API (default model: gemini-2.5-flash-lite, chosen for its higher free-tier quota and adequate quality for the three use-cases). The operator can swap models via the GEMINI_MODEL env var. When no key is configured, the three features automatically fall back to a built-in rule-based version that runs locally on our server.
What data is sent to the AI provider?+
Only the specific text you submit to the feature. Smart add sends the sentence you typed. Break into steps sends the task title (and optional description + project name). Explain today's plan sends a compact snapshot of Today (counts, top task, attention items). Nothing else — never your full task list, your email, your goals, or your calendar contents.
Can I turn AI off completely?+
The features only run when you press their button. If you never press Smart add, Break into steps, or Explain today's plan, no text leaves the app for AI processing. The regular add buttons never call AI.
Can I use voice instead of typing?+
Yes — there's a microphone button on the Capture page. On Chrome, Edge, Safari and Opera the browser's own speech engine runs the transcription on-device for free. On Pro and Max we also offer a Gemini-powered fallback so Firefox and in-app webviews still work. The recognised text drops straight into the textarea so you can review and edit before Smart Add does its thing.
Calendar sync
How does calendar sync work?+
You paste a private iCal URL in Settings → Calendar (Google, Apple iCloud, or Outlook all expose one). Mini Me fetches the next 7 days of events and caches them. Today uses that cache to compute how much free time you actually have, and the overload warning becomes a real number ("5h planned vs 2h free").
Does it write to my calendar?+
No. Read-only. Mini Me OS never creates, edits or deletes events in your calendar. It only reads them to do the math.
How do I disconnect?+
Settings → Calendar → Disconnect. That single action deletes both the stored iCal URL and every cached event tied to your workspace.
Pricing & billing
How much does it cost today?+
Free. The product is fully usable while we finish payment integration. No card is collected. Read the full plan reasoning on /pricing.
What about Pro and Max?+
Documented but not yet sellable. Pro will be €9 / month and unlock unlimited projects / goals / routines / tasks, every AI helper (Smart Add, Break-into-steps, Explain-plan, Project-breakdown), Calendar Sync, Smart Search, Energy & Focus Patterns analytics, the Voice fallback for unsupported browsers, Decision Helper, the Overload Detector and the ability to invite teammates into a shared workspace. Max will be €19 / month and add the Focus (Pomodoro) module, the read-only Email inbox (Gmail), the Automation Builder, the open Assistant, the Personal Memory Graph, multi-calendar feeds and multi-profile switching. Free is permanent — Pro and Max are depth, not access. Shared workspaces bill per seat on the owner's plan.
When does billing go live?+
No published date yet. We will announce it in the app and on /changelog before any cards are charged.
Privacy & data
Where is my data stored?+
In a Supabase Postgres database, EU region. Row-level security policies scope every read and write to your account. Read the full Privacy Policy and Data Processing page for the provider list.
Do you train AI models on my data?+
No. Mini Me OS does not train any model on your data. The AI provider (Google) processes API requests under their own terms, which by default exclude training on customer API content.
Can I export and delete everything?+
Yes. Settings → Download my data exports your workspace as a JSON file. Settings → Delete account permanently removes every row tied to your user across all workspace tables, then deletes the authentication user itself.
What is the difference between Reset and Delete account?+
Reset wipes content (tasks, projects, goals, routines, captures, reviews) but keeps your account, your settings and the defaults. Delete account removes everything — account, profile, all data, on every device. The Settings UI confirms both actions explicitly before they run.
